SILVER WISDOM - 福鼎老白茶

An upgraded collection of our most popular white tea. This aged white tea has a unique appearance with irregular sizes of stalks connecting to big leaves and short buds. The large amount of white fluffy contents attached represents its first-grade quality and taste. The liquid has a beautiful apricot and golden colour after steeping, and the texture is smooth with a mellow flavour.

Tea story

There is a Chinese saying that could be understood as ‘A White Tea remains just a tea in its first year, and it becomes medicine after three years and turns precious in seven years’. This shows the value of our 2013 aged white tea which has been saved for over ten years. The taste becomes more rich and full-bodied with a high content of Tea Polyphenols, which positively affects the flavour and mouthfeel. Don’t be confused by the stalks, as they are the key to its sweetness. They also bring more health benefits in lowering blood pressure and improving antioxidative effects, just like the wisdom that has been accumulating for over a decade.

Brewing recommendations

Steeping: 3g | 100ml | 95 °C | 15s

We recommend a steeping temperature of 95 °C (205 °F), where you can set the boiling water aside and allow it to cool down for less than a minute. Then take 3 grams of tea with 100ml water to steep for 15 seconds, or increase to 20 seconds if you prefer a stronger taste. The tea can be re-steeped several times when using a tea egg, filter bag, or Chinese Gaiwan/Yixing teapot.

You can always adjust the quantity and brewing time based on your preference. When using a larger container like a tea pot, you can take a small quantity and leave it in for a few minutes. It can also be boiled with other natural ingredients such as flowers and fruit.

Cold brew: 5-7g | 750ml | 5 °C | 4-8 hrs

Take 5-7 grams of tea with 750ml water and keep it in the fridge for 4-8 hours. We recommend preparing it in the evening before you go to bed, or in the morning so you can enjoy it during the day. If you want to keep it in the bottle for longer hours, please start with a lower amount of tea to avoid getting too strong. This tea can be reused for 2-3 times of cold brew.
